Description
These six contemporary pieces offer an opportunity for intermediate/advanced students to perform with their teacher or another advanced player, gaining invaluable experience in areas of the below musical performance:
•Working in Mixed, Variable, and Irregular time signatures may open up a world of meter not yet experienced by young musicians.
• Quasi-Jazz tonality. Although not written in any specific key, the sudden appearances of unexpected accidentals may be challenging at times, but a sign of the times!
• Cooperative Dueting: adjusting tempi, dynamics, and nuances to another ‘musical partner’, developing a “Third Ear”.
• Multiple entrances and rests demand sharp concentration and reflexes perhaps not yet developed.
